The land of Canaan refers to the land promised to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as mentioned in the Bible. It is located in the east of the Mediterranean Sea, bordering the Mediterranean Sea to the west, the Jordan River to the east, the Sinai Peninsula to the south, and the Taurus Mountains to the north, including modern Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and parts of Syria and Iraq. On the vast land stretching from the Egyptian River to the Euphrates, there are many different nationalities, including the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites, and Jebusites.The Israeli is one of the many tribes living in the region.
The journey of the Israelites to the promised land began with their father Abraham. Abraham was called by the Most High to leave his home in Mesopotamia and go to Canaan. The Most High promised to give this land to Abraham and his descendants as their inheritance. Abraham obeyed the call and went to Canaan with his wife Sarah and nephew Lot. Abraham’s son Isaac and his grandson Jacob also received the same promise. Jacob later changed his name to Israel, and he had twelve sons who became leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel. After Joseph son of Jacob became Pharaoh’s second in command, Israel in Egypt lived in Egypt for several generations. However, they later became slaves in Egypt until Moses was summoned by the Most High to lead them away from slavery and back to the promised land.
Before the Israelites entered the promised land, Moses sent twelve detectives into the land of Canaan to explore it. The detective brought back a report saying that the land they were about to enter was a fertile land rich in wheat and barley, grape trees and Fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey. This land is rich and fertile, but it is also heavily guarded and inhabited by a powerful country.
The journey of the Israelites to the promised land is not simple. They wandered in the desert for forty years, facing many challenges along the way. They must overcome the test of harsh conditions such as fear, doubt, hunger, extreme cold and heat.
